In 2008 Upper Deck asked me to contribute to their 2009 "Heroes" card set. Thurman Thomas was one of my all time favorite running backs and I was stoked that he was included in the list of players they wanted me to illustrate. The inclusion of Thomas and the good vibe I got from the Upper Deck creative team induced me to accept the assignment.
